DiceCast gaming podcast from Polymancer Studios, Inc.
Polymancer Studios, Inc. announces its newest effort, a gaming podcast called DiceCast (dicecast.mypodcast.com). The premier episode, “Episode 0,” is available for download and the podcast is in general syndication as well.
DiceCast covers roleplaying games, miniatures wargames, board games, and related hobbies as well as topics of interest to freelance writers and artists. The hosts for this show discuss topics that are useful to all participants in these hobbies (including players and gamemasters of all roleplaying games) in an informative, comprehensive, “you can do this” way. Announcements of new products and opportunities for freelance writers and artists are also included.
DiceCast has a lively, energetic feel that does not offset serious discussion of issues that matter to people who are interested in the gaming hobby. This is accomplished through the use of multiple hosts, the judicious use of music, and plain language to discuss the often complex subject matter. The typical episode of DiceCast will be 30 minutes or less in duration, appropriate for getting a quick gaming fix or for a short commute. (Episode 0 has a running time of 24 minutes.)

Polymancer Studios – the publisher of the system-independent general gaming magazine Polymancer and other products – previously contributed a segment to the popular Pulp Gamer: Out Of Character podcast (www.pulpgamer.com). DiceCast is a continuation of Polymancer’s efforts in the dynamic and growing gaming podcast field.
The company had previously expressed its enthusiasm for podcasting with a statement in the “Tech Talk” column in Volume 2, Issue #3 of Polymancer magazine:
Podcasts have been quickly revolutionizing the gaming media market… they represent an accessible face of the gaming hobby that has the power to convey information to gamers in ways that have never been possible before.
Polymancer Studios also uses the last minutes of each episode to announce calls for writers for their various publications: the fiction anthology Polygraff, the comic/graphic novel/manga anthology Occam’s Edge, the fantasy gaming magazine Paladin, the wargaming and military journal Bayonets, Spears & Blasters, the FourthRight line of products in support of D&D 4th Edition, several longer writing projects, as well as Polymancer magazine itself.
