Review: Ariadna Starter Pack

Corvus Belli designs and manufactures miniatures in white metal for collectors, painters, wargamers and role-playing games players. The miniatures are supplied without painting.

  • Corvus Belli 15mm: historic miniatures for your grand battles or dioramas, with a variety and degree of detail rarely seen in 15mm miniatures.
  • Science-fiction miniatures for INFINITY. Fight on the battlefields of the future!
  • War Crow 28mm: fantasy miniatures for your battles and role-playing , or simply to paint as it takes your fancy.

Ariadna is made up of the descendants of the first human colonizing ship that disappeared into a worm-hole and was given up for lost. Isolated on a remote and hostile planet, the Ariadnes – Cossacks, Americans, Scots and Frenchman – have evolved into a hard and technologically less advanced race, which has just made contact with the Human Sphere and is trying to carve out a niche for itself without falling under the control of the other powers.

Contents

The review sample sent was an Ariadna Starter Pack, unpainted and cast in white metal. The set contains 6 figures (3 x Line Kazaks (rilfe), 1 x Chasseur (skirmisher), 1 x 3rd Highlander Grey Rifle (versatile), 1 x Veteran Kazak (rifle)) at 28mm scale, and shipped in it’s own custom box with quick start rules.

The Good

These are very well-done figures with no large amount of preparation needed. There were no obvious moldlines and no flash to be trimmed.

There is a good variety of poses and all of the figures are very well-proportioned, even considering their heroic-scale.

The Bad

As great as these figures are, I think that the price is a little on the high side. While this may normally take away more than just a half-star, since these figures are so fantastic I’m going to let it slide.

The Ugly

None.

Scale:
28mm heroic scale
Cost: €32.50
