Review: Battlegames

Battlegames magazine is an independent publication covering all manner of wargaming topics – historical, fantasy and sci fi.

Contents

Battlegames is filled with regular and new columns and features, reviews, and commentary from not only established names in the industry, but new names as well.

The 50-page bi-monthly magazine is unlike so many other trade publications in that you can actually read the passion that spills out of each word. None of it feels rushed or forced.

Issues Reviewed

Battlegames 9, 11, and 14.

The Good

Battlegames is filled with love. Love for the hobby, love for the fandom, and is simply second-to-none. There is more reading to be done than looking at pictures – and to me, that’s just fine. It reminds me (in a good way) of old-school fanzines, where articles take precedence over pictures.

To date, this is probably the best publication on the market for gamers – and you can only do yourself a favor by picking an issue up for yourself.

The Bad

None whatsoever.

The Ugly

None.
