The review sample sent was a starter set of Campaign Coins. This heavy set (about a pound and a half in my estimation) contained 121 2mm thick coins, in denominations of 1, 10, 100, 1000, and one 500 collectible coin – giving you a total of 22,940 gp worth of loot to play with. The coins are divided up into copper, silver, gold, and platinum versions – covering the spectrum of coins that can be used in general gaming and LARPing.
The Good
It seems silly to go on about just how cool these are – but they really are. For years, we gamers have been using “pretend” money, foreign coins, or whatever to represent some of our wealth. Some LARP supply companies have produced passable, but very cheap-looking coins, but none compare to the usefulness and beauty of these Campaign Coins.
The Bad
I would have liked to see smaller denominations like 2, 5, 20 & 50 in this set – but it’s not really a big deal.
The Ugly
None.
