The review sample sent was a Dracophant, a creature from the world of Skoog. The Dracophant measures 100mm tall to the top of its ears and around 190mm long from the tip of its trunk to the curved bit of its tail (not the end of its tail). The Dracophant was originally an 11-piece kit, but the decision was made to sell it as an assembled kit. It is cast in metal and supplied unpainted.
The Dracophant was sculpted by Federico Genovese (aka IG88), and was donated to Newbold Games as part of their Newbold Challenge 2008. Federico also painted the model seen above.
The Good
I really love the concept and look of this miniature. I was also quite grateful that it came cast in one piece – it is an extremely heavy model and would have undoubtedly required a great deal of pinning and prep time.
The “best” of the “good” is that this is being sold for a very worthwhile cause… The Newbold Challenge.
The Bad
None.
The Ugly
None.
Scale: 100mm x 190mm
