Review: Scott Richard statue

Clay Crutcher of Modeler’s Attic grew up in Texas and started sculpting about 4 years ago. His kids got him into it by playing war games. One thing led to another and I opened Modeler’s Attic, a one-man shop where he makes the originals, molds and sells via the web site.

Clay not in this for the money, and the prices are a direct result of material costs, and time involved making them.

The products he sells are detail pieces to help make terrain easy and fun to build – mainly for the scratch builder.

The review sample sent was a statue set cast in resin, sculpted by Canadian artist Scott Richard. It is 6″ tall with no distinct markings, and can be used with all sorts of armies.

The Good

Overall, this is a nice-looking statue. It can be used in all manners of gaming as well as for any genre of such – from fantasy to sci-fi.

The Bad

The finished piece was filled with bubbles, which require a considerable amount of work to fill (though they could be ignored, giving the statue a weathered look). There was also a considerable bit of sanding required.

The Ugly

None.

Scale:
28mm
Cost: $10
