Review: Undead furniture

Clay Crutcher of Modeler’s Attic grew up in Texas and started sculpting about 4 years ago. His kids got him into it by playing war games. One thing led to another and I opened Modeler’s Attic, a one-man shop where he makes the originals, molds and sells via the web site.

Clay not in this for the money, and the prices are a direct result of material costs, and time involved making them.

The products he sells are detail pieces to help make terrain easy and fun to build – mainly for the scratch builder.

The review sample sent was a include: 1 table 3/4″ wide x 1-1/2″ long x 5/8″ tall, 2 styles of chairs 4 in all (wood is 3/4″ tall x 3/8″ wide x 3/8″ to seat / bone is 3/4″ tall x 9/16″ wide x 7/16″ to seat, 1 candle 5/8″ tall X 3/16″ round-base tapers to1/4″ round, bones,(the floor skeleton is 1-1/2″ long 1/4″ tall, but can be scattered- 13 pieces) , 1 banner icon with bat 3/4″ round x 3/16″ thick, 1 skull cauldron 1/2″ round x 3/8″ tall, 4 tombstones 11/16″ tall x 3/8″ wide, and 1 count sleeping quarters. The casket measures 1-5/8″ long x 1″ wide and tapers to 3/8″ x 1/2″ thick.

The Good

This is a very functional set all in all. The fact that there are so many cool little extras that Clay has sculpted gives you the idea that he knows what gamers like. These are perfect for not only wargaming, but for role-playing as well. The price is quite a bargain for what you get.

The Bad

I thought that the finished pieces were rather rough, requiring a considerable amount of clean-up.

The Ugly

None.
