Subscribers to Frontline General News,
New Frontline General: ICI Player Aid Released – You have it first!
Attached is a new player aid for Frontline General: Italian Campaign Introduction, a single-sided 8-1/2”x11” tracking sheet called the Operational Turn, Force Total, and Event Tracks. As a subscriber, you are receiving this aid first- before wide release on our website. This tool is a simple 3-in-1 solution that helps players count and track Operational Turns, Force Totals (for supply costs), and a single Event Card’s duration (for Event Cards that span multiple Operational turns). Sheet 2 in the PDF provides US and Germany Tokens for use with the various tracks. How to use each of the tracks is briefly explained below:
Operational Turn Track:
Place a US or German Token on each Operational Turn counter space to track the current turn for each country. Turns that include Production and Deployment actions are noted appropriately.
Force Total Tracks:
For each country, place up to three Tokens on the Force Total Track that represent the current total cost of forces deployed by that country. It is helpful to exclude forces that are not subject to supply costs. If used in this way, tracking supply costs each Turn is easy. As forces are defeated or deployed, simply adjust the track to suit.
Event Card Track:
If an Event comes into play that lasts multiple Operational Turns, the drawing player places that Event Card face up in the Event Card Track area. Use a token from the drawing player’s country to count down the duration until the Event is no longer a factor in play.
Special Thanks: I’d like to extend a special thanks to the playtester team- esp. John DiPonio, René Raap, Frank Romboud, David Merrick, and Todd Mewborn for providing comments during the development of this player aid. Their input helped shape the card into its current form. Thanks guys!
Issue 13 of Frontline General News on the way! – You will receive it first!
Issue 13 of our in-house newsletter, Frontline General News, is on the way. In this issue, you’ll not only read about some great examples of Tactical Scale combat, but also miniatures basing techniques specific to the game, and best of all, a new free Scenario for use with the Italian Campaign Introduction. The scenario is still in development and requires more testing before release. We’re also experimenting with a new look for the newsletter. Look for it in your inbox soon!
Heading to Fall In tomorrow!
We are traveling to Pennsylvania tomorrow to prepare for our next appearance at a gaming convention. Fall In is held in Gettysburg, PA this year Nov 7-9th. It is mostly a miniatures convention and is one of the smaller HMGS-East cons. We’re really looking forward to running demos each day and this time, a formal event on Saturday evening- a game of Frontline General for up to 6 players! An AAR with plenty of photos is sure to follow- possibly in Issue 13 of the newsletter. For more information on Fall In, head to the official site, www.fall-in.org
Kind Regards,
