Review: WWII Dogtags
Based in Holstebro, Denmark, Armytegn.dk is a small internet store that has been providing dogtags and accessories since December of 2006.

The review sample sent was a set of WWII-style dogtags. The set contained 2 tags, a 60cm chain, a 10cm chain, and 2 black silencers. While not specifically a role-playing game in and of themselves, dogtags are quite popular with the wargamer crowd as well as LARPers.

The Good
Dogtags are always good. They look cool and feel good – and when you’re wanting to have a WWII-style set for gaming, it’s nice to be able to get that without substituting modern tags. The stamping is high-quality and easy to read, and they are made without regard to “modern” safety features (the indents are cut sharply, just as they were when this style came into use). The inclusion of silencers was a nice touch – even though they were not used in WWII, some folks may choose to use them to prevent all the clanging around.
The Bad
Unfortunately, the chain that accompanied the dog tag set was too short – and of a very low quality. I needed to add a 3″-long extra bit of chain in order to get the tags to sit properly, and discovered that one evening during my sleep, the supplied chain actually broke. I may have gotten a bad chain, however, so I cannot vouch for how all of them are.
The Ugly
None.
