Dan Verssen Games – Field Commander Alexander

Dan Verssen of DVG reports:

Field Commander Alexander has marched to the printer! We are scheduled to receive the games the first part of May. This is an awesome game. The 4 maps will be mounted and linen covered, the artwork is amazing, and the game play/re-play is great (if I do say so myself).

If you haven’t heard of the Field Commander series, here’s the short story…

Ever since I started gaming back in the 80′s I’ve wanted to play games on epic historical events. But I never did. I ran into 2 issues. (1) The games that were available were big and complex. (2) No one to play with. The FC series tackles exciting historical leaders and packages them in a game that is easy to learn, fun and fast to play, gives the player lots of options, and is solitaire.

With Alexander, you can sit down and march through a campaign in 1 to 2 hours (truly you can – that isn’t back of the box hype). You can also link your 4 campaigns to see how years you will be remembered with your Immortality score.

For me, the biggest selling point of the FC series is the accessibility. These games are great for both casual and serious gamers.

So, if you like commanding men in battle, conquering new lands, deciding to govern or raze a new conquest, and seeing just how much of the world you can conquer, this might be the game for you.
