Playroom gets Ligretto set to go in US
Playroom Entertainment, Inc. today announced its deal to bring one of Europe’s top-selling card games, Ligretto, to the U.S. Ligretto has sold over 5 million copies in Europe and is a household game throughout the market.
Dan Rowen, president of Playroom, said, “In the tradition of proven card games like Rummy, Crazy Eights and Uno, Ligretto is a fast-paced card game that is sweeping the world. We are extremely happy to deliver a great ’deal’ of fun to the U.S. market with the launch of Ligretto in the states.”
Ligretto (MSRP $15 each/deck, for ages 8 and up) can be played by up to 12 players, when all three Ligretto decks are combined. It is a fast-moving, expandable card game, where players must try to get rid of their Ligretto stacks as fast as possible to win. Quick hands and quick-thinking are key as the players try to stack three different color game cards. The fun comes as all players play at the same time. Each deck of Ligretto is to be played by 2-4 players, but when adding the two other decks, up to 12 people can play all at once.
