L5R (Legend of the Five Rings): FREE Learn to Play set in June 2009

One of the best-kept secrets of the CCG world is the L5R (Legend of the Five Rings) trading card game. This year, L5R is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary with a number of programs to entice new and old players alike. Among these is the free expansion set called The Imperial Gift, which is being released in three separate parts to gaming stores which sell L5R.

Part 1 of The Imperial Gift was released last November, and included a complete playset of its 28 distinct cards. This first part was a teaser, designed to highlight the new graphic design of L5R.

Now, Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG), the makers of L5R, have solicited for Part 2 of The Imperial Gift. This will be a complete Learn To Play set, including two complete 81-card decks ready for immediate play. Imperial Gift 2 will lead into this summer’s release of Celestial Edition, the tenth primary edition of the L5R CCG, and the cards in the set will be fully legal for the Celestial tournament arc, a two-year time period of card releases which make up the sanctioned tournament environment for L5R.

All it takes is three players to start to build a player base and a relationship with AEG.
