Ancient Warfare Newsletter 2009

Ancient Warfare Special Quite possibly the main reason for the lack of recent newsletters was that the Ancient Warfare Special 2009: The Varian Disaster was swallowing all our time and attention. That, however, is now over: the Special is in the care of the printer and should be available within the week. Anyone who pre-ordered it before it returns from the printer, will of course get it as soon as possible afterwards. Click here to order your copy (and if you do so before May 27th, you’ll still get it post-free!).
Podcasts Continuing our recent history of stop-and-go podcasting: we’ve been trying to get a team of authors together for a podcast about the Wars of Alexander’s Successors, but failing technology and even extreme weather have prevented everyone who was available time-wise from joining in. In other words: we’re working on it and there will be a new podcast soon! To sweeten the deal, we’ll do a podcast to go with our Special issue (see above) as well. That should be coming in mid-June. Book reviews My call for book reviewers in our previous newsletter has been extremely successful. I’ve now got a long list of potential reviewers. However, not everyone has answered my questions regarding their knowledge and areas of interest: if you want to review books and expressed that already, please let me know the answers to those questions. Also, please note that I keep a list of books available for review on my blog, here. If you see a book there that matches your interest, please let me know, because this is a strictly ‘first come, first serve’ type of thing. Book giveaway
