Day of the Spears: The Battle of Isandlwana is a computer-based boardgame that is free to download. On January 22, 1879 near a mountain called Isandlwana, some 1800 British troops and native auxiliaries were wiped out by an army of perhaps 24,000 Zulus. The world was shocked to learn that a modern colonial army unit with rifles and artillery was defeated by native warriors with spears and muskets.
