Guelphs and Ghibellines is a tactical level game, designed by Piergennaro Federico, covering three battles in Medieval Italy, featuring the long struggle between the Guelphs, supporters of the Pope, and the Ghibellines, supporters of the Emperor in the XIIIth century.
Battles covered include Montaperti 1260, Benevento 1266 and Campaldino 1289 using a new, impulse-based, easy to learn (but not to master) game system.
Large iconic counters, two big maps.
