Legend of the Five Rings Update
This is an update of all things Legend of the Five Rings. Your Celestial Edition previews start this week so keep your eyes open. You will receive special card previews at the different Clans sites and on the official L5R site. We will also post articles form the Design Team and Celestial Edition preview fiction between now and the time that the product releases.
The Celestial Edition first day play event package will ship to stores this week. It will go out to all Level 1+ stores – in countries where swords are allowed. Therefore we will ship an alternate item to British Isle stores. Didn’t you guys invent swords? – The Sword of the Celestial Emperor is pictured below. It will also be available to stores new to L5R who pre-order Celestial Edition from a qualified distributor.
The release date for Celestial Edition has been moved to the end of June. We will have a final date in a few days when we get final production plans from our printer. This will not affect the legality of the set at events this summer such as GenCon.
A final note about your L5R Team – Justin Walsh has taken an indefinite hiatus from brand management of the L5R product on instructions from his physician. AEG wishes Justin well, and we hope the hiatus is a short one. Jon Hall, known to many of you already through his work here at AEG, has been named interim Brand Manager for L5R. Jon is a long time L5R player and has been in brand management training at AEG for quite some time. He is ready for the challenges of Celestial Edition. Please do give him a warm welcome.
