One of the most hotly-anticipated games of this Summer is Fantasy Flight Games’ latest foray into the world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings epic, Middle-earth Quest.
Set in the long period between Bilbo’s departure from the Shire and Frodo’s quest to destroy the One Ring in Mount Doom, Middle-earth Quest puts players in the role of heroes allied with Gandalf the Grey, united to hold back the forces of darkness. One player will take on the role of Sauron and control the minions of evil to bring about his dominion of Middle-earth. Time is running out and the evil is growing stronger, but the few who stand against the rising tide will take their place among the greatest heroes of the Third Age.

Middle-earth Quest is a game of adventure and conflict set in the time leading up to the creation of the Fellowship. One player will adopt to mantle of Sauron and do his best to spread his evil influence across the lands. Up to three players become heroes and will do their best to foil Sauron’s foul plots, and rally the peoples of Middle-earth to their side.

This Summer, take on the role of one of the four terrible gods of Chaos – Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, or Tzeentch – in Fantasy Flight Games’ new board game of corruption and conquest, Chaos in the Old World. In the leadup to the release of this game we will be running preview articles, spoilers, and designer diaries.

Outsiders visit Dunwich as seldom as possible, and since a certain season of horror all the signboards pointing towards it have been taken down. Now you are tasked with going to this very site. Noises not of this world have begun again from the Whateley Farm. Dogs have gone missing, and something stalks the night. Take your team and seek out the source of these ghastly sounds. Be wary, you may face the father of Wilbur Whateley…
