Gaming Apps for Android
Of course, most people know by now that the Android wins hands down over other OS’s in so many ways.
Other than the obvious advantages choice, lack of censorship, and software, the biggest advantages of Android over existing phone OS’s are threefold:
- Cost – there is no cost to the manufacturer of the phone or the carrier.
- Compatibility – applications for Android will be compatible with other manufacturers Android handsets, so different manufacturers will compete on quality of their product rather than the amount of software available.
- Features – Android was developed to be very feature rich, of course manufacturers can disable features but if they want them it is trivial to enable them. If the public begins to demand additional features as ideas change, then Android can be upgraded to include those features.
But enough of that. It is a seriously awesome system, yes – but that isn’t the point of this post. What I’d like to do is tell you about some useful apps for gamers available for Android systems.
Pocket Tabletop RPG Helper
A simple assistant for players of tabletop RPG games. It provides a die roller and a set of basic tracking tools for D&D / D20, GURPS, Shadowrun, and World Of Darkness.
