Mean, ga-ga arms – aka Game Anagrams
Did you know that parliament is an anagram of partial men? Or that Clint Eastwood an anagram of Old West Action? As a wise person once said,
All the life’s wisdom can be found in anagrams. Anagrams never lie.
As any of my students can attest to – I like anagrams. A lot. They are fun brain teasers and great educational devices.
There are several online anagram engines, which let you type in a word or phrase, and come back with some rough possibilities for anagrams. Most phrases of over twenty letters will give you hundreds of English anagrams. It’s then up to you to fish through them to see which ones have that crystallized truth about them. It’s not as easy as it looks!
Using Anagram Genius – which is a personal favorite that cuts down your sifting work by weighing the value of good words, and by rearranging the found words into grammatically correct phrases if possible – I have entered a few names well-known to the gaming community – just to see what would come up, and posted the first and only result for each.
