Meet and Greet: There’s Always Someone Late to the Party

Last week, I introduced you to the Geekcentricity writing crew.  There was one writer I neglected to mention, because she hadn’t submitted anything yet and was out of town visiting that hell hole known as The Pitt (or Pittsburgh if you’ve never played Fallout 3).  Since that changed when Carmen indoctrinated us forcibly into her fangirl fetish for a certain boy wizard, I figured this would be a good time to introduce her to you, dear readers.

Carmen as Jedi Knight Barriss Offee

Carmen Robbins

I’ve known Carmen for about 6 years now.  I have to warn you all… she’s crazy.  Seriously.  You think I’m kidding?  You’ll learn.  She’s in nursing school because she likes “the blood and guts aspect of it.”  See what I mean?

Carmen’s first gaming console was the NES, but she’s played pretty much every console since then.  Her first computer was a Gateway back in 1995.  I feel old!

Like George, Carmen has never played tabletop rpg’s, but I suspect that if she got the opportunity, she’d be hooked.  After all, she comes by her geekiness in the most natural way: she was a high school band geek.  She’s also a complete Star Wars geek, but that’s normal around here.

Carmen isn’t married.  She still lives with her parents, but not in the basement.  Still, that’s pretty geeky.  She has a boyfriend and two dogs, an American Pit Bull Terrier named Eva Braun and a Cocker Spaniel/Border Collie mix named Skittles.  Other dogs punch Skittles in the face, pants him and give him wedgies all the time because of that ridiculous name.

Carmen has about 22 zillion plush penguins ready to march forth and conquer the world for their master as soon as she figures out how to animate them.

About the Author

One of the rarest of life forms. A female Star Wars geek. 12 parsecs worth of cool points to you.

  3. Carmen Robbins says:

    Hah, thank you, sir.

Actually, I’m about 75% on the animation project. All I need is IRL penguin DNA. Forgot to get it while I was in Pittsburgh.
