The Perfect Christmas Gift: Zombies…

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Zombies! Author: Michael P. Spradlin Illustraited by: Jeff Weigel

Deck the halls with parts of Wally,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

‘Tis the season for brains by golly,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Come on, what can’t be made better with zombies?  We all know that “zombiemania” has struck America harder than a gooey thighbone to the back of the head.  Perhaps it’s retaliation for the angsty teeny bopper vampire trends, or maybe it’s rooted in something viler, like an inherent fear of the possible realities of a flesh-eating apocalypse.

Regardless, of why the social phenomenon has occurred, zombies have invaded every area of our mortal lives.  Clothing, film, gaming, and printed texts all serve to entertain, instill fear, or assist us in survival.  Recent publications on the undead topic include books on the history of the zombie war, survival manuals, or retelling of historical events.  Up until now however, there has been one part of our culture that remained unscathed by the clawing hands of the dead, the American holiday…that is until now.

Grandma got turned into a Zombie,

Walking home from our house Christmas Eve.

You can say there’s no such thing as Undead,

But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

Well thanks to author Michael P. Spradlin, holiday cheer is no longer safe from the infectious bite of brain eaters.  In his book It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Zombies! Michael P. Spradlin gives all good (living) boys and girls the means to celebrate the holiday cheer along with their zombie buddies.  Let’s face it, it’s inevitability, most people will fall to feed the undead ranks.  This way you’ll be ready for the holidays and won’t be left outside in the cold.

So if you’re still looking for that stocking stuffer for that special geeky someone, consider this fine piece of literature.  Besides, what can’t be made better by zombies?
