Free Form Friday: George Lucas Needs to Stop Going to Star Trek Conventions

It seems it’s time for another Free Form Friday!  It’s my turn to offer up answers to the questions that have been bothering you for centuries, causing sleep loss and car accidents.  I asked around for questions and got a decent amount, so sorry to you whose questions aren’t answered.  Google is a good resource.

When will they stop making Final Fantasy games?

It’ll be awhile.  It’ll be forever.  THEY’LL TAKE OVER THE WORLD.  But seriously, Tetsuya has said in the past that we should expect the release of Final Fantasy XXI.  That’s 21 for you guys who aren’t Roman numeral savvy, and that means we have a long way to go.  Final Fantasy III will also be coming out for the iPhone rather soon.  XIII and XIV were not as popular as earlier games, though, so it’s possible they may cut this short.

What is George Lucas doing in his spare time?  He can’t be devoting everything to this animated garbage.

In 2007, he made it known that he doesn’t plan on anymore big Star Wars movies to IGN.  While he could easily go back on his word, he is getting old.  In the IGN article, he mentions Red Tails, which is supposed to be released soon.  Maybe.  Who knows?  In January of 2010, Lucas told Access Hollywood he was seriously considering a 3D release of the Star Wars series.  Watching a 3D Jar Jar Binks will most likely have me scooping out my eyeballs with melon ballers and jamming crochet hooks in my ears.

What is all this I’m hearing about Canada’s internet?

Image from I Can Has Cheezburger

According to the Vancouver Sun, a newspaper whose employees know a lot more about Canada than I do since they’re located in Canada, large ISPs (Internet Service Providers) are putting caps on the amount of bandwidth their customers can use.  They’re doing this because they feel customers use so much with all of the file sharing and WoWing going on that they’re losing money.  You either have to pay the company more to use more, or switch to a smaller ISP and pay a bajillion dollars for unlimited bandwidth.  I suppose that’s what I would be doing if I lived in Canada.

I have been using Norton for the past year as an antivirus on my computer, but it has let so much through that I don’t think it’s worth the money anymore.  Do you have any recommendations?

I currently use Avira for my main antivirus program, along with Ad-Aware and Malwarebytes.  The Boyfriend swears by CCleaner for an additional program.  In the past, I have used Avast! (look at that, I’m friggin’ Dr. Seuss), and that worked well for me.  I also tried AVG.  My current combination is the best fit so far for my needs.  All of these products are free, so take your pick!  I still have Windows Firewall enabled just to cover my bases.  I’m not paranoid or anything.

Can I have your number?

Image from Encyclopedia Dramatica

I’ll give you a number only if you reserve something from me at my retail job.  And by *a* number, I mean either one that I’ve come up with off the top of my head, or the number of  The Boyfriend, who will kindly tell you to shove off or die.

So there you have it, kids, I’ve answered your questions.  You owe me.
