Free Form Friggin’ Friday: I am le back.

This is the stuff dreams are made of.

Hello, hello, and welcome to a new edition of Free Form Friday!  I’m back and better than ever (that last part’s a lie), and it’s lovely to see you again (also a lie).  Sorry, Brian.  Don’t hate me.

I’ve been recently getting a lot of the same video game questions, so that’s what we’ll be answering today.

What do you think of the Nintendo 3DS?

I think the 3D without glasses thing is a pretty cool idea, but I tried the 3DS at my retail location and I don’t care for it at all.  It hurts my face.  I get migraines often, and looking at the screen and seeing things pop out at me in different colors just hurts.  I do like that you can turn the 3D off, though.  I also have to wonder if this will take a toll on the eyesight of the children that own a 3DS.  I guess we’ll find out in 10 years when there’s a sudden boom in the optical industry.  In my opinion, if you want a DS, buy the XL.  The screen size is fabulous compared to my little DS Lite, and it won’t hurt your face unless someone throws it at you.

What is your most anticipated game?

Right now, Alice: Madness Returns (here and here ) .  You have NO IDEA how much I want this game.  I pre-ordered it as soon as I knew I could, and I’m anxiously awaiting its debut.  I need this game in order to continue living.  NEED.

Looking at this now in 2011, they almost look like Lego figures.

What is this I hear about a new Halo game?

Halo: Combat Evolved is being re-released for the 360 and is expected in November of this year.  It will supposedly have new art assets, and will support 3D televisions.  If you’re planning on buying, I’d pre-order because fanboys are going to be all over this.  I kind of have a feeling that they’ll add some more maps, just so it’s not the SAME EXACT game from 2001, but I could be wrong.  Also, I literally JUST figured out how to edit picture size in WordPress.  *bow*

Is the new PSP going to be worth buying?

If you’re into handheld systems and you were severely disappointed with the PSP Go (just like everyone else alive), I think it would be a decent purchase.  At one of my places of employment, I’ve been asked many times which handheld would be the best for a child under ten.  I maintain that a Nintendo DS of some sort is the best idea for young children, simply because of the age range of the available games.  The Sony PSP does not have that large of a game library for kids that age.  When it comes to teenagers and adults, however, it’s different.  If you’re looking for a cutesy system on which to play Mario Kart and Cooking Mama, go with the DS.  If you want Killzone, Madden, and Metal Gear Solid, go with the PSP.  I’m not giving specs on this thing because you can Google it yourdamnself.  Also, I’m lazy.

Who is this new guy?

Hell if I know: see below.  That rhymed.

Where the hell have you been?  The internet has recently been lacking your presence.

I know, and I’m sorry.  This is the part where I make a list of excuses.  Le first, I have school.  It’s only one class, mind you, since I’m a failure and dropped all my other ones, but it’s still a class.  Le second, my computer broke and The Boyfriend has to fix it.  I’ve been using other people’s computers to do my important things, but that’s it.  The Boyfriend had my computer on briefly, and discovered I have upwards of 300 unchecked emails in my inbox, none of which are spam (but they’re probably all from Makeupalley and ThinkGeek).  Awesome.  Le third, I got a new job!  I’m making decent money now, but it’s for working about 50 hours a week.  Yes, 50.  The place I’m working just opened, so I’ve been there day and night getting shit together (and rolling pizza dough) to make everything work.  Once it settles down, I’ll sleep more and have some time for life.  Anyway, I’ll be back soon.  My computer will be fixed and I’ll be online.  Also, I’ll be writing more often.  This may or may not be good news to you.

I work here. Right on that patio on the right. That one.
