From Board Game to Movie
It seems that Hollywood is always looking for new ways to avoid originality when it comes to the films that are made. Once prequels become popular everyone decided to do it, then have reboots or retellings. Then cartoon and toy based films become the norm. So what’s next on the evolutionary chart of mediocre films? Board games, thats right, as in Operation or Sorry. It’s crazy but also crazy enough to work. After all, Transformers 3 was the highest grossing film of the year and didn’t even have a plot or logical ending, yet we voluntarily forked over our hard earned green to go see it in 3D no less. I have to admit I was one of them and I’ll admit the film was nothing more then mind numbing eye candy, but board games? Really?
Universal Pictures is already looking to bring games like Ouija, Monopoly, Candy Land, Magic: The Gathering, and Stretch Armstrong to the big screen. They already are set to release Battleship. Candy Land is already rumored to be in the development stage and Ridley Scott has been rumored to be potentially help make a Monopoly movie. This crisis is real folks. Here are some game based movies from the past to help remind you that is is not new.
What’s Next? Any Guesses?

How could you miss the classic game as movie – WarGames. How many films have the survival of the world hinge on a series of games of Tic-tac-toe?
OMG!!! That’s right I almost blocked that movie…..dammm that was a good one. “Shall We Play A Game!!??” Classic.
