New York Comic Con Day 2

Well day 2 (or day 1 depending on your pass) is in the bag, and boy what a day…We had tons of conversations on the floor setting up interviews for tomorrow. So be on the look out for goodies coming from Quirk Books, Boy Wonder, Vitaly Samarin and Romantically Apocolyptic, Geek Chic, Rooster Teeth crew, Eddie McClintock, and the list goes on…

A couple of highlights from todays panels:

Hanging with Eddie McClintock of Warehouse 13

Felicia Day and Sandeep Parikh offered a fun and engaging panel covering the future of their works, what it’s like working on transmedia projects, the differences between production and acting. Day and Parikh offered great advice to independent content creators and encouraged them to really check their intentions when diving into a new project. Day mentioned she’s back for another season of Eureka, they start filming soon. She also mentioned she’s currently looking for funding for season 6 of the Guild. She assured fans that she’ll quit filming the Guild when the story is resolved, she’s not going to just make it because there’s funding.  Sandeep talked a bit about his past projects and what’s coming up in the near future. There were loads of “top shelf” laughter and overall was one of the most fun panels I’ve ever been to.

Epic fantasy writer R.A. Salvatore spent some time, along with narrative and creative directors, talking about the depth of content that went into creating Kingdom of Amalur: the Reckoning. They created 10,000 years of history out of which the game developers worked to match their vision for the game with epic story arcs in the worlds history. The game entails the first occurrence of a rebirth from the Well of Lost Souls, and the following impact it had on Amalur. A fallen fey battles the mortals and you are stuck in between. The interesting thing is KoA allows for free switching of “destines” which are their versions of character classes.

Lock & Key, a Dark Horse comic series, is coming to Fox this fall, and the preview episode is looking really good.  Not what we were expecting.

So now I’ll shut up and give you some more pics…
