New York Comic Con: That’s a Wrap
Three and a half days, loads of fun, tons of people, and multiple cups of coffee later, New York Comic Con has come to a close. Over all this year was an improvement over last year. The layout of the Jacob Javits Center was much better this year. NYCC expanded the space it was using which was awesome. Lines wrapped the center in the mornings and the weekend was sold out Thursday except for a few Friday only tickets, which went quickly Friday morning.
If you’ve never been to a comic con and you’re on the east coast, NYCC is a great con to get out to. Based on the growth from this year, it can only get bigger and better. We’ll have video interviews posted soon so stay tuned for more updates.
You can check out some pics in the meantime from the event on our flickr feed here. So let’s throw a few pics up so you can get a taste of the event:
The Avengers display was busy with guest appearances from the cast as well as comic book staff.
Legion Designs were really unique, and were just one of many steampunk influences that kept cropping up at the Con.
The ever present and by far the best Batmobile yet. They also had a Delorian and the original series Batmobile on site as well.
Mouse Guard the role playing game was there, and I have to say I was surprised by the RPG presence.
Geek Chic the fine purveyors of quality hard wood custom gaming furniture.
Always more great art than you can shake a stick at.
Reeves and all the RETCON crew were hanging out and running games.
Kimberly Benson and Heretic City offered a really unique transmedia form of story telling through art and clothing design.
The guys from Propworx were present with tons of Iron Man 2 props for auction.
So there you have a sneak peak of some of the stuff we saw this year. Go over to the flickr feed and look for upcoming youtube video links on our twitter feed.
