Press Release: Uncharted Seas Second Wave by Spartan Games

More goodies coming in from Spartan about the relaunch of Uncharted Seas.  Take a look at some of the new models coming out.  Recast magic is happening…loads of new pics…enjoy.

HANTAK CLASS FRIGATE

Although the weakest of the Ralgard’s naval vessels the Hantak is key to the screening strategy that many Ralgard captains employ. A 10 inch movement is enough to keep the Frigate out of trouble and 4 models can link fire for an effective broadside of 11 AD.

KALOR CLASS CRUISER

A good, solidly built Cruiser that was built to provide Ralgard fleets with a fast assault ship that is capable of engaging the enemy effectively at Range Bands 1-2. A Squadron of  3 can engage out to 16 inches with 12 AD, and in the Fore arc the front guns can hit home with 9 AD at Range Band 1. A Movement Rating of inches makes the Kalor a nippy Medium sized ship.

VANTAK CLASS BATTLESHIP

Devastating, imposing, big, tall……the list of words to describe this model goes on. As the mobile fortress of Ralgard troops invading the Uncharted Seas the Vantak is everything a captain would want from their vessel. Despite its physical size the massive sails keep this vessel moving at 6 inches, and powerful broadsides (15 AD at Range Band 1 and 13 AD at Range Band 2) ensure most vessels keep well clear of them. Problem is, this machine of destruction has Fore and Aft weaponry…

RAVEN CLASS ASSAULT DESTROYER

When these two models (Assault Ship and Raven Class Frigate) are linked together, they form a new class of ship, the Raven Destroyer. The strength of this ship is its ability to attack as a single, powerful ship… or to be able to split off and make TWO attacks as two different vessels. This makes for some interesting tactical use.

WAR DRAGON

There is no finer way to strike fear in the hearts of your enemy than to field a War Dragon – or two! As this majestic beast swoops over the battlefield, enemy troops head for the nearest cover for fear of its ferocious acid blast weapon…

 COBRA CLASS CRUISER

With a superb 11 inch movement the Cobra is one of the fastest vessels of its class to sail the Uncharted Seas. Arcs of fire to the starboard, port and fore allow the Cobra to engage easily, and a Squadron of 4 can, at Range Band 1, link for 15 AD to either Broadside, or 10 AD to the Fore. This vessel personifies the Elven tactic of hit and run.

STARTER FLEET

Like a dagger in the hands of a skilled assassin a Thaniras Elves Starter Fleet is ideal for players looking to stab at their enemy; carefully removing threats from the gaming table and striking at the heart of the opposing fleet. The stylised design of the Elves makes them elegant to look at, but at the same time they carry a hint of danger. In the hands of the right player any opponent will be crushed by this fleet.

STALKER CLASS CRUISER

Take a Shroud Mages Battleship, shrink it down, but keep it nasty and what do you have? Answer: a Stalker Class Cruiser. A Squadron of 3 of these will cost you 165 points and for this you get broadsides that link for 12 AD at Range Band 1, a Fore arc that links to 8 AD in this Range Band, and then of course we have the Red Ram Rating of 6 and more red hot steam!

INTRUDER CLASS BATTLESHIP

If you are unlucky enough to feel the full effect of a ram by an Intruder Battleship chances are you are unlikely to recover. With a Red Ram Rating of 9 this vessel should automatically destroy a Frigate, the odds are stacked in its favour to critical a Cruiser and with a trailing wind and some good dice rolling hurt a Battleship. Once this happens the vessel injects red hot steam into an enemy vessel, and its crew then board fight to the death. Oh, and we forgot its lethal cocktail of weapon fire. This is an unpleasant vessel to fight against.

IMPALER CLASS DESTROYER

Orc Impaler class Destroyers have recently been discovered hunting in packs throughout the Uncharted Seas. They are merciless predators, regrouping and salvaging what they can after each assault before moving on to the next target.

SLAUGHTER CLASS FLAGSHIP

The Slaughter Class Flagship is a devastating machine of war and is (if Orcs knew what the words meant!) the pride and joy of the Orc Raiders nation. Its upper gun deck allows this floating machine of war to link fire with the lower deck to dish out a devastating body blow to an enemy target!

PILLAGER CLASS ASSAULT CRUISER

Some models in the Uncharted Seas have a  very simple role, and in the case of the Pillager it is quite simply this: slam as hard as you can into the hull of an enemy ship causing as much damage as you can. Then let your elite warriors storm aboard and kill everything they can see!

STARTER FLEET

Smash…….bang…….wallop……..sounds like a classic Orc attack. And with this fleet we aim to please, giving you a fleet that is about as in your face as it comes. Get in fast, hit hard, board the enemy ships, kill ‘em all and pick another target. The ships of this fleet are optimised for head-on weapons fire and the crews are chomping at the bit for some good old fashioned hand-to-hand-combat.

MORTIS CLASS FRIGATE

Fast by Dwarven standards the Mortis is, with its turreted 360 degree arc of fire, a small vessel that should be treated with respect – or face the consequences. A Squadron of 4 can link fire for 11 AD in Range Band 1 and this is plenty enough to harm a Cruiser, and even taunt the odd Battleship!

HAMMER CLASS CRUISER

The best word to use for this medium class model is workhorse. The Hammer serves an important role in any Iron Dwarves fleet and, when a unit of three draws its fire together, delivers a painful slap in the face to enemy captains.

FORGE CLASS BATTLESHIP

The Iron Dwarves thought long and hard about the Forge Class Battleship, their minds focussed on how they could create a powerful floating citadel that could lay down fire to all arcs and, when the vessel had closed in, deliver a devastating salvo that would lay waste to any vessel. The Iron Dwarves believe they have achieved their goal.

SUNSET CLASS FRIGATE

With a speed of 12 inches and the ability to ignore the wind direction the Sunset is one of the most versatile Frigates in the Uncharted Seas, and a full complement of these ships in a Squadron can hand out 10 AD of hurt to both broadsides.

SHADOW CLASS CRUISER

The larger Squadron size of 4 allows the Shadow Class to serve a couple of capable roles within a Dragon Lord fleet. Firstly, they are strong enough to deploy in a small Squadron of 2 in an almost escort fashion, used to act as a shield against smaller vessel trying to nip at larger ships like a Dragon Carrier or Nightshade Battleship, and secondly, and perhaps the most common use, as a Squadron of 4 where all the vessels can, in Range Band 1, link to deliver 15 AD to both broadsides.

NIGHTSHADE CLASS BATTLESHIP

A Battleship that can lay down 13 AD to both broadsides at Range Band 1, has 9 Hull Points, is fast for its size and can ignore the direction of the wind because it uses magical sails has got to be a good thing. Dragon Lord shipwrights have created a vessel that Dragon Lord captains are proud to serve upon, and enemy captains are fearful to go up against.
