From the Publisher

Harker Asylum was founded by professor Abraham Harker, an eminent scientist known for his revolutionary studies about the human mind. Professor Harker inherited his wealth from his father, John Harker, an adventurer become famous for successfully fighting an ancient Evil. Abraham turned his father’s estate into an Asylum. For years the Asylum was the best institute of the country in curing mental diseases. But a day something mysterious happened…

First Thoughts

Horror-themed map sets from Øone? Count me in!

The Good

I’ve used Øone Game’s products for quite some time now. I have yet to see a competitor put out such well-crafted maps for so many different environments. Harker Asylum is no exception, and the production value is superb (though I may be biased after being so excited to see this type of dark fantasy product, which has been truly lacking in the market).

The Bad

I really, really hate the fact that you are required to do the printing yourself. I understand the reasons behind it, but it doesn’t lesson my dislike. The tiles and templates really should be printed out on excellent quality cardstock, and the maps require some expensive glossy paper. These aren’t generally what you have in the home, or even the office – so you’ll be required to pay to have it done professionally. This unfortunately will increase your initial purchase exponentially, which is the only reason why I did not rate the product higher in my review.

The Ugly

None.
