GeekReview: The YoFo SmartGrip

We recently got our hands on a couple of these YoFo SmarGrip’s to play with and so I decided to do just that and put it to the test. I stuck this thing on almost any surface and I must say I was impressed. The great ‘suction cupness’ of it makes it ideal for anyone that wants to stick there phone or portable device on any surface. I used it in my car and stuck it to the top of my car’s cup holder cover. Whenever I jump in my car I simple slap the phone on to that surface and my iPhone is securely attached to my car where I can easily get to it. The YoFo also works as a great way to keep your headphones close as you can simply warp them around the back. I find this very helpful as I always want to use my headphones but hate dealing with untangling them every time I want to use them. One interesting use for me was using it to attach my iPhone to the back of my iPad as I walked around with it. I also use it to attach my iPhone to my kitchen cabinet at eye level as I did my good deed as a good husband and did the dishes. The one thing I didn’t use it for was gaming. Apparently you can secure it to a flat surface and use it to take advantage of your iPhone’s gyroscope for certain games.

After a week playing with the YoFo I fell in love with it. Definitely a useful gadget accessory for your smartphone or portable device. As long as you have a flat clean surface you can use it. Unfortunately if you use a case for your phone, unless there is a flat surface on that case to attach the provided sticker, you will not be able to use it from what I can see.
